Oceanic Professional Development has created a number of specialist development programs to fully equip both experienced and inexperienced candidates to transition to roles in the financial services industry. The Programs are run continuously throughout the year. Entry is by application and rigorous selection, to meet the standards demanded by industry employers.

Each of the Professional Development Programs is established to select, develop and place candidates in industry roles to match their
skill set. The development stage or training phase contains qualification training through AIFA supported by our unique practical skills workshops using tools such as those supplied by our contributors, The Encore Group, Outplan, Coin and XPlan.

Each of our Professional development programs enables candidates at three strategic levels to enter the industry with the technical and practical skills to begin work immediately. These programs consist of;

Professional Development Program – Financial Planning
The Professional Development Program – Financial Planning is designed to facilitate the transition of experienced professionals into the financial services industry who are seeking a role as a Financial Planner. This program comprises 13 weeks of continuous full-time study from Monday to Thursday 4 days per week. The training includes the Diploma of Financial Services – Financial Planning, and AIFA’s unique Diploma of Practice Management in Financial Planning. The Diploma training is supplemented with 3 weeks of practical workshops to apply the training learned through the qualification training. Typical candidates for this Program have many years of business experience in other sectors to bring to their new role in the financial services industry.

Professional Development Program – Paraplanning
The Professional Development Program – Paraplanning is designed to equip candidate with the technical and practical skills to enter the financial planning industry as Paraplanners.This program is focused on the skill set of the next generation of paraplanners. In seven weeks of full time training candidates will complete their Diploma of Financial Services – Financial Planning training including RG146 compliance modules. The two weeks intensive workshops equip candidates to be ready to be valuable in a paraplanning role in a fraction of the time that most new entrants to the industry can achieve. This program delivers great value to candidates and clients alike.

Professional Development Program – Financial Planning Support
The Professional Development Program – Financial Support is designed specifically for professionals entering the Financial Planning industry as graduates or candidates with limited experience.This five week program gives the entry level skills and RG146 compliance required to meet the needs of employers. The great advantage of the program is that candidates arrive with their new employer
completely work ready.
